BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) —An Amazon Prime delivery driver is being credited with foiling a porch pirate in Boynton Beach. Police shared RING doorbell video of the woman they're trying to identify in connection with the theft of a package from a home near Southwest 8th Street. According to police, a delivery driver with Amazon saw the woman running down the street and called 911. The woman dumped the package in the bushes and took off.
Police said the driver returned it to the homeowner. The delivery driver told police she noticed at least one man and woman following her truck while riding bicycles. Police say there are things you can do to protect your packages from thieves. They include having packages delivered to the community management office or work, require a signature, schedule a delivery for when someone's home, and invest in a home video security system.
