Hap Erstein with PalmBeachArtsPaper.com reviews some of the newest films at the box office, including a sequel to 2010's "RED", which starred Bruce Willis, John Malkovich and others.
He doesn't review "The Conjuring", which is the film I have most been anticipating in recent weeks. I hope this one is as good as it looks. (Joel Malkin)
"Red 2" - Bruce Willis stars in an action- packed comedy about a retired black-ops CIA agent who brings back his team of elite operatives to track down a threatening nucleur device. John Malkovich, Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta-Jones co-star in the sequel to the 2010 film. Hap recommends it.
"The Conjuring" - Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren are called upon to help a family being terrorized by an evil presence. Vera Farmiga stars in this film that is based on a true story. The Warrens reportedly also investigated the home that was the basis for "The Amityville Horror" book and films.
"The Way Way Back" - A smart comedy about a 14 year old boy who spends his summer vacation with his mother, her boyfriend (Steve Carell), and his daughter. Having family problems, he befriends the manager of a water park, played by Sam Rockwell. Another Hap recommendation.
"Turbo" - A garden snail, voiced by Ryan Reynolds, dreams of becoming the world's greatest racer. He gets his chance when a freak accident gives him the power of superspeed.
Hap's Art House Pick of the Week
"I'm So Excited" - A film from the director who discovered Latin actors like Antonio Banderas and Penelope Cruz. In fact you'll enjoy cameos from those two, however this is one art house "pick" that Hap is actually NOT recommending.
