Universal Orlando says its new, 3-D theme park ride based on the Transformers toy brand will open June 30.
According to a news release, the ride is an interactive, ``larger than life battle'' between the Autobots and Decepticons. It uses flight simulator technology, along with wind, heat and smoke to make the riders feel immersed in the experience.
The theme park plastered an 80-foot Transformers display on the side of an Orlando office building this week to drum up excitement for the opening.
The park announced its plans Thursday. The ride was created under license from Hasbro, Inc.

The Great American Cleanup wraps up this weekend.
The non-profit Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful, Inc. is holding cleanup events at several places throughout the county. These are not just beaches, but parks and neighborhoods as well.
In many cases, wildlife is a key concern, as they could wind up consuming trash, such as plastic, which can injure birds and other animals.
Organizers of this event prefer that volunteers call ahead to let them know they will be pitching in, but those showing up unannounced will not be turned away.
The events are going on at Phipps Ocean Beach Park in Palm Beach, Ocean Inlet Park on the Boynton Inlet in Ocean Ridge, Burt Reynolds Park in Jupiter among other places.
All events get underway Saturday morning at 8 a.m. unless otherwise specified.
