Peter:
We had something happen at the office today that Mo & Sally’s listeners might enjoy hearing. This is a cat story and I know that Mo and Sally have rescued several cats.
Mo and Sally’s pest technician, Robert, was called to one of our Home Owners Association in Palm Beach Gardens. They had received several complaints regarding a stray cat which had been seen in the community over the last six months. The cat could not be caught and had been getting into people’s garbage. The cat had been labeled as mean and very dangerous.
Robert set up an animal friendly cage with food to trap the untrappable cat. He also placed plants around the trap to make it blend in with the surroundings. Three days later he checked the cage and found the cat. The cat was much smaller than we had been told. It was very skinny and you could tell that it had been in the wild for sometime.
Robert found that the cat had a collar with a telephone number. He called the number and traced it to a home in Loxahatchee. On calling the people, Robert was told that they had previously owned a cat which disappeared 6 months ago. Robert brought the cat he caught to the people in Loxahatchee. On seeing the cat, the lady called out Betsy and began to cry. Betsy was her long lost cat and the cat’s demeanor changed immediately on seeing her owner. The cat calmed down immediately. The lady explained that this was a special cat, since she had seen the cat born. The owner felt that the cat may have jumped on a someone’s truck who was doing work on her property in Loxahatchee and ended up in Palm Beach Gardens.
Robert was glad to reunite the pet owner with her cat and also to have trapped the untrappable cat.
